8/25/08 First Day of School

The first day of school went off with out a hitch! Maddie is in 3rd grade and Melanie starting 1st grade. Maddie's teacher is Mrs. Trieger. I have not met her yet because we missed the ice cream social last week and the bus was late on the first day so we had to rush to the line when the bell was ringing. Mrs. Trieger didn't let parents in the classroom. Melanie has Maddie's first grade teacher Miss Titsworth so she felt right at home! I stole Amy's idea from her blog and below are pictures from each year of school.

Milwaukee Harley Riders

You can't live in Milwaukee and not own a Harley! The girls enjoyed a short ride with Robert!

Melanie's First Tooth!

Friday moring Melanie bit into a powdered donut and said her tooth was loose. We knew her top two were loose, but this bottom one was very loose. We checked out and headed to the outlet mall. She wasn't afraid to pull it out and sure enough she did while shopping at The Children's Place. We then headed to our Friends in Milwaukee (Terry, Beth and Charlie)!

The funnest slide we went on!

Putt Putt

We played a little minitiature golf one evening at the Pirates Cove. We played 18 holes. This course had 5 18 hole courses!

Robert braided the girls hair every time they showered. I'm not good enough to braid hair anymore.

Water Parks

Most of our time was spent swimming in the Dells and The Wilderness. They had 3 outdoor water parks (probably more) and 3 indoor, we went to the 3 outdoor. The slides were fun, but the girls had just as much fun just swimming in the pool!

Duck Tour

Waiting for our ride! The Duck picked us up right from the resorts parking lot. The ducks were previuosly used to transport soldiers through water (they may still be used?).

We went down a slight hill and right into the water!
This is sandstone and it just crumbles in your hand, is located only in 3 places including the Wisconsin River. I don't remember the other two and don't have time to look it up!

8/18/08 House on the Rock

We met Robert's parents on Sunday afternoon to visit the House on the Rock on MOnday. It is quite a collection to see. It took us about 6 hours to tour and the girls didn't complain until the last 1/2 hour and then it was only Melanie!

House on the Rock

I think Maddie tried to take a picture of every doll on the doll carousal and every animal on the big carousal. You watched it forever and would see something different everytime. Everything in the room was valued at $4.3 million.

House on the Rock

This is a picture looking out the Infinity Room which was off of the house. THe room went straight out the rock on steal beems going out and part way down had a window you could look out under neath where you were standing. Maddie and Bonnie didn't venture to far out.
This is the top of the infinity room.

These were fake (but real size elephants) they had making a pyramid one elephant on top of another!
